Configuration
Forgotten the poweron password? There is a simple hardware dongle which you can build for the parallel port (so you need the port replicator) to bypass the power-on password. Wire a 25 pin serial/parallel port plug as follows:

Yes this really works - I have used it myself on a cast-off Toshiba Portege 3110CT (see photos above). This will BYPASS the password(s), not remove them. To remove them, you will need to use the Toshiba DOS or Windows software. See the User Manual for full details of doing this.
