Problem: In some firmware versions the SNMP protocol has not been enabled.
Solution: Use the serial console or telnet to add the SNMP protocol to your router as follows:
> ip portname add snmp 161/udp
> config save
> flashfs update
> restart
When your router restarts, you should be able to use SNMP.
