Problem: User has forgotten the password for the web user interface.
Solution 1: Upgrading the router's firmware (to the same version if necessary) will reset the web interface username to the default of "admin" and the password to the default of "admin".
Solution 2: Login to the router's the serial console by using a terminal program (eg Hyperterminal under Windows) or by telnetting (the default password for telnet is "private") to the router's IP address (the default IP address is 192.168.0.1). Details for connecting to the router's serial console port using Hyperterminal or another terminal program may be found here.
Once you have logged in, type the following commands at the prompt:
> isfs
> cat inituser
which will display results similar to those below:
username=admin password=admin configFromAdsl=no timeout=0 lcrefresh=yes staterefresh=no UPnP=no
showing you your currently configured username and password.
Solution 3: You can use the Windows "Firmware Upgrade" utility to backup. your current firmware. Once you have done this, open the file called inituser with your favourite text editor (eg Notepad, Wordpad, Word) and read your username and password.
